Ivan “Jake” Crane, born on May 25, 1961, departed this life unexpectedly on January 25, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy woven into the fabric of his family and community.
Jake was a steadfast presence in the world of Midwest Fabricating, dedicating over 35 years to a career that mirrored his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His colleagues admired him, not just for his skill but for the kindness that radiated from his every interaction. Jake’s life beyond work was rich with adventure and connection. He found pure joy in the great outdoors, embarking on countless camping trips filled with laughter and togetherness with his beloved family. These escapades were more than mere activities; they were a testament to his love for his wife and children, his proudest achievement and the heart of his existence.
He was a devoted husband to Alice “Jake” Crane, with whom he shared 44 beautiful years of partnership. Together, they nurtured a loving household filled with warmth and affection. Jake also leaves behind his cherished children, Kimberly D. (Chad) Frank, and Sincererae M. Fox (Chris Swartz); alongside his adoring grandchildren, Robert Fisher (Tamika Athey), Austin Frank (Kristin Balthaser), and Colton Frank. Also, by his great-grandchildren, Zoey, Zander, Zayah, Octavia, Messer, Titus, Salvador, Zahara and Noella, whose lives have been enriched by his gentle guidance and unwavering support.
Jake’s heart was bound by the ties of family, extending to his siblings, Mary (Mike) Crane McCance, Frank (Patty) Crane, Wilma (Roger Dozier) Crane, Howard Crane, and Ollie (Mike) Crane Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom carry a piece of him within their hearts.
Though he has departed this earthly realm, he is now reunited with his parents, Ivan Crane and Lynnie Brumfield Arledge, and his siblings, Ida, Lloyd, and Donald Crane. Together, they form a constellation of love that he continues to shine brightly upon those who remain.
Jake was known for being a good guy, a phrase that resonates deeply among those who crossed his path. His infectious spirit created an unforgettable bond with friends and family alike, leaving them with stories of happiness and camaraderie.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12 noon at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery, Laurelville, following the services.
Calling hours were held 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday, January 31, 2025, and 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the funeral home.
Following the graveside service, there was a dinner at the River Valley Life Center, 2190 Coonpath Rd. NW Lancaster, Ohio.
