James Harold Andy, 75, of Logan, Ohio passed away December 23, 2018 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan, Ohio. James was born July 24, 1943 in Vinton County, Ohio to Harold Jackson and Doris Emma Andy. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; enjoyed farming and gardening; retired from Ellinger Monument; and was a member of the Sheperd’s Chapel. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Shirley Rose Keck Andy; daughter, Ellie Doris Andy of Logan; son, James Mark (Carolyn) Andy of Logan; grandsons, Weston James (Alex) Andy, and Kyle Michael (Echo) Andy; great-granddaughter, Emery Evelyn Andy; great-grandson, Emerson Michael Andy; brother, Ervin (Connie) Andy of Pataskala; sisters, Mary Ann Erckert of New Port, KY, Rita Copenhaver (David) of Gobles, MI, and Beverly Roudabush of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Donny and JoAnn Ellinger, and Orville Bobo. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Marvin Larry Andy. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Ervin Andy officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of choice.
