James “Jim” LeRoy Starkey, Jr., Age 74, resident of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on January 14, 2023, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
Jim was born November 19, 1948, in Lancaster, Ohio to Betty Lou South and James LeRoy Starkey, Sr. Jim worked as a heavy machinery operator, loved to listen to country music, play cards, do word puzzles, and watch his favorite show, The Andy Griffth Show.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Knisley; children, Joseph Starkey, Sr, and Kristi Perkins; and grandson, Zackary Starkey.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Jeanie Houdeshell, Carla (John) Wedge, Helen Crockett, Sandra Travis, Richard Matthews, Jr., and Ronald (Crystal) Matthews; children, Jeffery (Jen) Starkey, James (Jennifer) Starkey, III, Kevin (Doris) Groves, Korey (Stasha) Starkey, Jessica (Dave Snyder) Starkey, Justin Starkey, and KiAnna Starkey; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family held a private gathering with cremation to follow. Burial will be held at Floral Hill Memory Gardens on a future date.
