James Weaver, age 75, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away January 10, 2019 at Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. James was born January 9, 1944 in Union Furnace, Ohio to Lawrence Weaver and Dicia (Hanning) Weaver. He worked at DeFabCo for 36 years in Columbus; formerly worked for Western Electric, General Motors, Central Ohio Welding, and United McGill; and he also formerly owned his own roofing company. James was a member of the Lancaster Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite; played in Blue Grass bands; was an amazing wood worker; enjoyed metal detecting; and loved his kids and grandkids. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Weaver of Lancaster; daughter Melissa (Randy) Hoover of South Charleston; son James Michael Weaver of Lancaster; daughter Dicia Jane (Rob) of Circleville; grandchildren, Jessica & Frank Hathaway of Lancaster, Josh (Rachel) Anderson of Lancaster, Matt (Cheyenne) Anderson of Lancaster, and Lanee Weaver and her mother Stephanie of Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Jordan Hathaway, Theodore Anderson, and Leona Anderson; sister Janetta Ruth Harris of Georgetown; several nieces and nephews; and special thanks to Cheryl Ringhiser. James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Wilber Weaver. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Rodney Rogers officiating. Burial was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Lancaster, Ohio. Calling hours were observed on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 12-3 and 4-6 pm at the funeral home. The Lancaster Masonic Lodge had a Masonic Service on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 6:00 pm. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Wexner Medical Center for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James Cancer Hospital.
