Jimmy R. Marteney, age 68, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away October 2, 2020 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Jimmy was born August 12, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to Junior Marteney and Julia Persinger Marteney. He loved his family; loved model trains; loved cars; loved watching Turner Classic Movies; loved to talk about the Lord; enjoyed mowing grass; and liked sitting outside or in his garage enjoying fresh air.
Surviving are his wife of almost 45 years, Susan L. Cook Marteney; mother Julia Marteney of Cardington; sons, Christopher Cook of Pickerington, and Jim Marteney of Lancaster; daughter Katherine Marteney of Lancaster; grandson Donovin Searles; granddaughters, Cailin Cook, and Rosaliegh Bennett; great-grandson Aiden Cook; sister Ruth (Don) Wymer; brothers, Ronnie (Lori) Marteney, Ray (Susan) Marteney, and Cheyenne (Lisa) Marteney; brothers-in-law, Phillip Cook, and Michael (Debbie) Cook; sisters-in-law, Judy Flood, and Linda (Sonny) Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father; son Jason Marteney; and sister Kitty Marteney.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Monday, October 5, 2020 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the funeral home and Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
