Joan Hamilton, of Logan, Ohio, passed away on her 88th birthday, December 14, 2024, at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Joan was born December 14, 1936, in Carbon Hill to Charles Donley Lax and Tillie Matilda Johnson Lax. She was a 1954 graduate of Carbon Hill High School and retired January 1, 1988, from the Ohio Unemployment Office.                        

Surviving are brothers-in-law Roger (Cynthia) Hamilton, Logan OH; Lester Hamilton, Gore OH; Jim Hamilton, Union Furnace OH; sisters in law Brenda (Albert) Wahl, Logan OH; Linda (Mike) Ford, Rockbridge OH; Daryle Hamilton, Logan OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald J. Hamilton, who passed away September 2, 2014; and brothers Charles, Frank, John, Howard, Ernie, and Harles Lax.

Funeral services were held at 12 noon, Wednesday December 18, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed 11 am – 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
