Jody H. Six, age 72, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away February 12, 2025, at his daughter’s residence, Glouster, Ohio.

Jody was born September 17, 1952 in Athens, Ohio to Harold Six and Juanita Bailey Six. He retired after 25 years from Hocking College; loved to joke and have a good time; loved children and his grandkids.

Surviving are his children Jody L. (Kimberly) Six of Nelsonville, Jeffrey (Pam) Six of Athens, Jennifer (Chris) Boggs of Glouster; grandchildren Dana, Jessica, Cassie, Sierra, Kayla, Dawson, Davin; multiple great-grandchildren; siblings Lorretta Sharpe of Albany, Debbie Six of Albany, Junior Bailey of Athens, Judy Roush of New Lexington, Dave Bailey of Athens, Brenda Bowenes of Athens, Bob Six of Anchorage, Alaska, Mike Six of Athens.

Jody was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years Valerie Six, who passed away September 30, 2022; brother Larry Bailey, mother-in-law Jean Woodrum.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Larry Swart officiating. Burial will be in Whitmore, Buchtel, Ohio.

Calling hours will be 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with Jody’s funeral expenses.
