Johnathan “John” Allen, age 48, of Blacklick, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital Jamestown Emergency Center in Jamestown, Ohio.
John was born April 20, 1976, in Columbus, Ohio to Robert E. Allen and Julie A. Gearheart. John loved playing Disk Golf, riding his Harley, watching and driving drag race cars, and hanging out with his many friends and his dogs. He used to do photography for sports and drag racing. John thoroughly enjoyed playing Call of Duty and spending time with his son Aayden and nephew Anthony.
Surviving are his mother, Julie Gearheart; stepfather, Robert Gearheart; father, Robert Allen; children, Brendon Allen, Makenna Allen, and Aayden Allen; sister, Stephanie (Jimmy) Nelson and Mary Frances Scott; and nieces and nephews, Savannah (Tamiko) Pettiford, Anthony Hughes, and Khloe Hughes; great niece, Nylah Allen; his dogs, Nala and Ginger; aunts, Jackie Goodman, Sherry (Lee) Conner, Debbie (Bob) Terry, Susan (James) Myers, and Amber Denny; many cousins; many close friends.
John was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary F. Nevius; Grandfather (Jack E. Denny); Step Grandpa (John D. Nevius) and uncles, James E. Denny and Robert Goodman.
Funeral services were held at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Cross Walk Church located at 751 Rosehill Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, with Pastor Brian Neville officiating. The burial was held at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054.
Calling hours were observed from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024.
