Karla Annette Hamner, age 67, of Rushville, Ohio, passed away January 23, 2024, at her residence.
Karla was born January 4, 1957, in Lancaster, Ohio to William Kenneth and Dolores Rose Starr.
Karla was a loving and dedicated daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. She was a beacon of hope in times of suffering, a mountain of faith through good times and bad, an ocean of grace and acceptance, and a rock and inspiration to those who knew her. To know her was to love her.
Surviving are her children, Amy (Brian) Cyrus, Joshua (Elizabeth) Hamner, and Eric (Carrie) Hamner; grandchildren, Cameron Cyrus, Delaney Cyrus, Elivia Cyrus, Ava Hamner, Andon Hamner, Sawyer Hamner, Miles Hamner, June Hamner, and River Hamner; sisters, Kendra (Dan) Shull, and Candee Holdrieth; sister-in-law, Mary Wharton; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents, William Kenneth and Dolores Rose (Beougher) Starr; siblings, Kenneth Curtis Starr and Jon Wesley Starr; sisters-in-law, Penny Christiansen Starr and Jima Guthrie; niece, Emily Noel Starr; mother-in-law, Rose Hamner; and father-in-law, Wade Hamner.
Services were at the Life Church Vineyard, 5550 Lancaster-Newark Rd. NE Pleasantville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday, January 26, 2024. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, Ohio.
