Kayla Marie Teal, age 31, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away March 1, 2023, unexpectedly at home.
Kalya was born June 14, 1991, in Athens, Ohio to Rose Hansen-Teal and Roy Teal and brought into Baptism in 2003. Kayla loved listening to music and spending time with her child and friends.
Surviving are her mother, Rose Hansen-Teal; stepfather, Jerry Lee Shumway; children, Bentley Michael Teal, Elijah, and Isaiah; brothers, Justin Teal and Chris Teal; sister, Natasha; many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins; and father, Roy Teal Sr.
Kalya was preceded in death by her grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, and brother, Roy Teal Jr.
Calling hours were observed Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5-7 pm at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Warren-Brown Funeral Home to help with expenses.
