Larry James Gillespie, Jr., age 48, of Logan, Ohio, passed away January 15, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. Larry was born April 8, 1970 in Lancaster, Ohio to Larry James Gillespie, Sr. and Jeanie Kathleen (Berry) Gillespie. He loved to make people laugh and he loved his family dearly. Larry was an avid Ohio State football fan; and loved country music. Surviving are his parents, Larry and Jeanie Gillespie; brothers, John Gillespie, Jared (Melody) Gillespie, Justin (Brooke) Gillespie, and Jason (Amanda) Gillespie; sisters, Joy (Matt) Wray, Jeanie Poling, Laura (Joe) Starr-Showalter, Jayna (Billy) Knisley, Shannon Gillespie, and Chelsey (Alex) Gillespie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother-in-law Terry Starr; niece Mackenzie Gillespie; cousin and best friend Jimmy Gillespie; uncle Ron Gillespie, that he thought of as a second dad; and uncles, Kerm, Harvey, Harold, Lawrence, and Carol. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Bud Dotson officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. Calling hours were observed from 11:00 am to time of service on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
