Lorenzo “Dow” Smith, age 88, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away March 27, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Dow was born June 28, 1935, in Haydenville, Ohio to Okey D. Smith and Verna R. Smith. Dow was an active member of the Nelsonville Elks.
Surviving are his wife, Dea Smith; children, Ron (Diana) Smith, Susie (Buddy) McKibben, Louie (Becky) Smith, and Kelsie Smith; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy (Roberta) Smith, Ronnie Smith, Mica (James) Knox, Tina (Luke) Heber, Jensen Smith, Carissa Freer, Sheena McKibben, Emma Peck, and Erica (Steven) Coen; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and brother, Roger (Helen) Smith.
Dow was preceded in death by his parents, Okey and Verna Smith; daughter, Lorie Smith; siblings, Lawrence Smith, Lewis Smith, Barbara Looney, Mary Smith, Marcella Smith, Willma Smith, and Elma Call; grandson, Mike McKibben; and granddaughters, Sherry Papineau and Heather Smith.
Per the wishes of Dow, there will be a simple cremation with graveside services being held at 12:00 Noon on April 27, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Arrangements are by the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio.
