Marsha Lynn-Gay Mace, 53, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, January 12, 2019. Although Marsha was born developmentally disabled, her disability did not define her. Marsha was an excellent example of a benevolent nature. She was always kind to people, compassionate, and enjoyed doing things for others. Her kindness to people – strangers and friends – is widely remembered by those who knew her well and those who met her briefly. Marsha’s sense of humor brought smiles and roars of laughter to many. She brightened any room with her impish grin. A plaque on her bedroom wall says it all: “She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes”. Marsha enjoyed traveling, shopping, dining out and going to the Columbus Zoo. She loved music, The Andy Griffith Show, Fuller House and all things Disney. Marsha loved animals and will be missed by her two hamsters Jo-Jo and Elsa, her dog Bobo and her three cats, Howard, Mr. Gru and Bob. Marsha was preceded in death by her biological parents and siblings. Marsha is survived by her foster mom and sister, Kimberly Shepler and Bethany Zimmerman, with whom she has lived for the past seven years. Marsha is also survived by the rest of her foster family, the Shepler family, plus special friends Kathy Blair, Judy Murray, Betty and Jim Ringhiser, Frank Denney and Jason Meyers. Marsha will be missed very much but we take comfort in knowing that she is now with her Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven and we will be with her again someday.
