Martha J. Crawford

Martha J. Crawford, age 92, of Logan, Ohio, went into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ making her faith complete on Saturday morning, December 3, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

Martha was born October 8,1930, in Logan, Ohio to Lawrence and Dorothy Hansley. She was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, member of the Ladies Guild, Missionary League, Sunday School Teacher, and Lutheran Women’s Bible Study; member of Fairview UM Women and Fairview Ladies Bible Study; member of G. E. Retirees; Farm Bureau; active in the Hocking County Fair since 1953 and won hundreds of blue ribbons; and she was well known for her “Sweet Iced Tea” and many baked goods.     

Surviving are her sons, Pastor Dan (Theresa) Crawford of Rockbridge and Steve Crawford of Logan; daughters, Sharon Hardman of Logan and Karen (Joel) Barkhurst of Logan; grandchildren, Tanna (Robert) Sigler of Logan, Janna (Dan) Johnson of Logan, Jesse (Laura) Barkhurst of Logan, Faith (Christopher) Johnson of Logan, Hannah (Nathan) Hoch of Oxford, and Olivia (Aaron) Shafer of Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Micah, Grace, Jack, Leila, Addlynn, Lydia, Elijah, Amelia, Kate, Eleanor, Zoey, Ella, and James; sisters, Patricia McDowell of Logan and Elizabeth Shaw of Rockbridge; step-sister Rita (Bill) Goss of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford Crawford; brothers, Lawrence Hansley Jr and James Hansley; sister, Betty Crawford; in-laws, Otto Shaw, Jean Hansley, Jim Moore, Donald McDowell, Ellen Hansley, Rosemary Hansley, Judy Hansley, Harold Crawford, Kenneth and Gaynell Crawford, Reverend Roy and Joaquin Crawford; and son-in-law Matthew Hardman.

Calling hours were observed 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio, and Friday, December 9, 2022, from 10 A.M. till time of service at 11:00 A.M., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Logan, Ohio. Pastor Danny Koch officiated. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, Ohio.
