Maxine C. Wolfe, age 97, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023, at home with her children by her side.
Maxine was born April 19, 1926, in Nelsonville to James and Flossie Cope. Maxine loved to watch OSU Football and Cincinati Reds. She loved her hometown and all of her friends through the years. Maxine was a well-respected employee and was the executive administrative assistant to the president of Hocking College for over 30 years.
Surviving are her children, Lori (Darrell Doepke) Wolfe and Chris Wolfe III; and sister, Mary Kuhn.
Maxine was preceded in death by parents, James and Flossie Cope; infant daughter, Susan Wolfe; and siblings, Kenneth Cope, Austin “Hod” Cope, Janet Hutchins, and James D. Cope.
Calling hours were observed 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday October 2, 2023, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery of Nelsonville, Ohio at a future date following cremation.
