Melinda D. Barnett, 55, of McConnellsville, Ohio passed away June 1, 2018 at Morrison House, Zanesville, Ohio. Melinda was born April 14, 1963 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Larry Chester and Janet M Kapp. She was a 1981 graduate of Point Pleasant High School; attended Hocking College Nursing Program; and was a member of Anchor Church of McConnelsville and Jacksonville House of Prayer. Surviving are her husband, Rick Barnett; children, Lisa (Doug) Richards of Logan, Elizabeth (Tobby) Skinner of McConnellsville, Naomi (Steven) Teal of Corning, Lafe (Shawna) Barnett of Logan, Crystal (Steven) Malone of Blue Rock, Diana (Allen) Little of Kilgore, TX, and Shawn (Nicole) Richards of McConnellsville; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; mother, Janet Cunningham of Point Pleasant, WV; brothers, Larry (Debbie) Kapp of Leon, WV, Mark (Michelle) Long of North Pole, Alaska, and Larry Anthony Kapp of Tucson, AZ; and sister, Aleta (Hershel) Flora of Point Pleasant, WV; special nephew, Mark Barnett; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Larry Kapp; step-father, Bruce Cunningham; and sister, Joan Kapp. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. Burial was in Laurel Township Cemetery, Gibisonville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
