Michael E. Waddell, age 72, of The Plains, Ohio, passed away on January 24, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones in The Plains, Ohio.
Mike was born November 9, 1951, in New Straitsville to Ervin E. and Wilma G. Waddell. Mike loved being in the great outdoors, and going Mushroom hunting, root digging, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving are his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia “Patty” Waddell; children, Mike (Michelle) Travis of New Lexington, Patricia Lewis of Zanesville, Jeff (Ellora) Cox of Nelsonville, Jeremy (Sonya) Cox of The Plains, Andy (Des) Cox of Nelsonville, and Christina (Mack Malone) Cox of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Brandon, Deric, Chelsey, Kendra, Alex, JJ, Sissy, Uriah, Russell, Shayla, Mary, Angel, Nick, Braxton, Leland, and Hazel; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Jim Waddell of The Plains, Becky Fast of Logan, Dale (Randi) Waddell of Logan, Ervin (Teresa) Waddell of Logan; and 6 dogs.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Wilma Waddell; son, David Charles; son-in-law, Charles Lewis; grandson, Phillip Davis; and siblings, Everett Waddell, Dave Waddell, Rosie Waddell, and Bertha Cox.
At this time there was a simple cremation through the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio.
