Murlin E. “Chink” Wolfe, 84, of
Murray City, Ohio passed away June 9, 2017 at his residence.
Murlin was born July 4, 1932 in Jobs, Ohio to Sidney and Madeline Wolfe. He was
a 1950 graduate of Murray City High School; member of the Connett United Methodist
Church; worked at Nelsonville-York Schools and Beacon School in Athens;
operated a wrecker service for many years; was a former coal miner; and member
of Murray City Eagles #1044.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Mona L. Wolfe; daughters, Vickey (Terry)
Cain of Murray City and Sandy (Jim) Ratliff; step-daughter, Vicki Murray of
Murray City; grandchildren, Steve Singleton of Murray City, Shannon (Lori)
Singleton of Navare, FL, Traci (Tim) Sheppard of New Lexington, Jimmy Ratliff
of New Lexington, Jason Ratliff of New Lexington, and Edgar Ratliff of Murray
City; step-grandchildren, Lacy Erickson of Tuscon, AZ, and Danielle Dennis of
Utah; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Siera, Brandon, Jacob, Blake, Sheppard,
Austin, Jason, Brianna, and Liam; step-great-grandchildren, Morgan, Savannah,
and Wiatt; and brother, Gene (Judy) Wolfe of Murray City.
Murlin was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alberta Ruth Wolfe,
who passed away April 29, 2002; son, Chuckie Wolfe; grandson, Bradley
Singleton; brothers, Sam, Sidney, and Walt Wolfe; and sister, Marjorie
Campbell.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday June 13, 2017 at the Brown
Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Ernie Perkins and Pastor Tim Poling
officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Murray City, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral
home.
