Nancy L. Vermillion, age 82, of Union Furnace, Ohio, passed away July 7, 2024, at Mount Carmel East, Columbus, Ohio.
Nancy was born February 3, 1942, in Nelsonville, Ohio to Franklin Davis and Anna Grace Williams Saunders. She was a 1960 graduate of Logan High School; secretary of Hocking County Fair Board for over 30 years; was a 4-H advisor for 40 years, helping many youths with sewing, cooking, lamb and sheep projects.
Surviving are her son Scott (Cindy )Vermillion of Logan; daughter Joanna Beal of Union Furnace; grandchildren Blake (Taylor) Vermillion of Logan, Rachael (Clarke) Franz of Logan, Seth (Rachael) Vermillion of Nelsonville, and Luke (Michaela) Beal of Logan; great-grandchildren Ashton, Brody, Zander, Maverick, Karmen, and Karsen; step-grandchildren Ryan (Amy) Wood, and Cassaundra (Brant) Finney; step-great-grandchildren Avery, Foster, Lucy, Selah, and Adley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Shirley Horton of Logan; Gary (Pam) Vermillion of Albany, Wendell (Faye) Vermillion of Jackson, Don (Karen) Vermillion of Union Furnace, Nancy Lou Vermillion of Logan, Norma Jean Vermillion of Columbus, Sandy Vermillion of Rockbridge, and Calvin Chaffin of Logan; special nieces Lynn Filiatrault, Vicki Shahan, Becky Brand, and Debbie Singo; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; and her pet dog Mya.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 50 years Victor Vermillion; a great-grandchild Hudson; brothers Frank Davis, and Dennis Saunders; sisters Violet Martin, and Marilyn Shahan; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Vivian Michel, June Gessells, Larry Vermillion, Lloyd Vermillion, Chet Vermillion, Floyd Vermillion, and Kathy Chaffin.
Funeral services were held at 11 A.M., Friday July 12, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Josh Martin officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Wednesday 6-8 pm, and Thursday 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
