Norma Jean Stowers, age 88, of Newark, passed away on October 12, 2023, at Sharon Brooke.
Norma was born on February 10, 1935, to the late Floyd E. and Martha (Wycuff) McCollister, in Nelsonville, Ohio.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. Norma enjoyed sewing, painting, going to yard sales, and making homemade noodles.
Dressing up and hosting Halloween was an event she looked forward to every year. She gave herself to the Lord and loved to participate in Methodist services.
Norma is survived by her children, Rhonda (Dave) Riley, Andra Pursley, Lenny (Diane Weiland) Stowers; grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Pursley, Tammy (Zach) Powell, Lindsay Rogers, Michael (Monique) Pursley, Leslie (Ben) Bisso, Andy Riley, Jason (Jessica McIntire) Stowers, Kyle (Jenna) Stowers; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Hartman, Ruth (Ronnie) Six, JoEllen (Bill) Fuller; brothers, Raymond (Mary) McCollister, David (Faith) McCollister, Charlie (Betty) McCollister; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur S. Stowers Jr.; son-in-law, Jeffory Pursley; grandson, Steven Pursley; brother-in-law, Ronald Hartman; and many sisters and brothers.
A visitation was held on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 5 – 8 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio from 12 noon till time of the service at 2 PM, with Rev. Barb Salyers officiating.
The burial was in Connett Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio.
