Oneida V. Hess, age 90, of Athens, Ohio, passed away April 23, 2024, at Kimes Convalescent Center in Athens, Ohio.
Oneida was born July 31, 1933, in Spencer, West Virginia to Arley West and Orpha West. Oneida loved to sew, work in the yard, drive, and sing when she was able. She also just loved everyone. Oneida was a long-time member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Logan, Ohio.
Surviving are her daughter, Lois (Ed) Williams; 2 grandchildren, Jody (Brian) Blume and Erin (Tony) Dixon; 6 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, James, Jesse, Carly, and Piper; and great-great-grandson, Samuel.
Oneida was preceded in death by loving husband of 69 years, James Hess; parents, Arley and Orpha West; and 7 siblings.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday April 27, 2024, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church Logan, Ohio. Burial was held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday April 27, 2024, at Hebron Cemetery in Spencer, West Virginia.
Calling hours were observed 6 – 8 P.M. on Friday April 26, 2024, and 10 – 11 A.M. on Saturday April 27, 2024, prior to the service at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Logan, Ohio.
Arrangements are by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio.
