Ralph S. “Chub” Davis, age 86 of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away October 29, 2020 at Fairfield Medical center in Lancaster.
Ralph was born July 24, 1934 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Roy Oscar Davis and Annabelle (nee: Dewhurst) Davis. He was a 1952 graduate of Nelsonville High School; attended Ohio University; was a US Army Veteran, 4th Armored Division 15th Calvary 2nd Recon; he attended the Athens Bible Church; past owner of S. Davis Grocery in Nelsonville; past owner of Athens Valley Realty in Athens; partner in R & R Rentals of Nelsonville; broker for Ohio Realty Better Homes and Gardens; former member of the Philodorian Masonic Lodge in Nelsonville; member of the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason in Columbus; past member and treasurer of the Eudora O.E.S. lodge # 72; and member of the Paramuthia Masonic Lodge # 25 in Athens.
Surviving are sons, Roger Alan Davis of Annapolis, MD, Donald E. Davis of Nelsonville; brother Roy E. (Nancy) Davis of Nelsonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ellen (nee: Williamson) Davis who passed December 2, 2016.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with William Hixon officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed 4-7 pm Monday, November 2, 2020 and 10am-11am Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the funeral home. Masonic service was held at 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Donations can be made in memory of Ralph Davis to the Nelsonville High School Alumni Scholarship Fund.
