Richard L. Brown

Richard L. Brown, 64, of Bremen, Ohio passed away February 17, 2018 at his residence. Richard was born February 13, 1954 in Canal Winchester, Ohio to Richard and Dorothy L. Brown. He worked for 36 years at Sonoco Paper Products in Lancaster; worked the last 8 years at U.S. Corrugated/Westrock in Lancaster; and a member of the Pleasant Chapel Church in Lancaster for 37 plus years. He loved God first. He was a great father, excellent grandpa, great son, great brother and loving friend. Loved his wife, kids, and grandkids. He worked really hard his whole life, and was looking forward to retiring at the end of March and spending his retirement with his wife and grandkids. Anyone that knew him knows he was always very competitive in everything he did. His newest found passion was corn hole and it did not matter, family or friend, he always had to win. Sorry Bob, but he would want us to say that he beat you at corn hole. He was always a Dallas Cowboys fan, even in their worst years. He also loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Mary Brown; children, Dwayne Scott Brown of Newark, Debbra L. Trent of Canal Winchester, Martie Jo Sowers of Gahanna, Anthony (Heather) Brown of Somerset, and Dustin L Brown of Bremen; grandchildren, Lakelinn Brown, Steven R. Trent, Anna Marie Trent, Edward J. Morgan, Elizabeth Angelia Sowers, Ethan Thomas Sowers, Cruz Anthony Brown, Elijah L. Mock, and Phillip L. Mock; siblings, Charles Brown, Roger (Becky) Brown, Darlene (Mike) Travis, Robert (Rosella) Brown, Mary (Daniel) Mercer, Ronald (Cas) Brown, and Christina (John) Daft; all of his church family; and longtime friend Randy Rife. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry Brown; and sisters, Barbara Ellis, Rose Brown, and Kathrine Youtsey. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Steve Rauch officiating. Burial was in Community Garden Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio. Following the graveside serrvice, everyone was invited to the Moose Lodge #955, 1201 Old Sugar Grove Rd. Lancaster, Ohio for food, fellowship and celebration of life. Calling hours were observed Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and Thursday 11 am till time of service.
