We mourn the passing of Rick Deeter Sr., who was born on November 29, 1953, in Athens, Ohio. He passed away January 17, 2025, in the comfort of his home. Rickie was the beloved son of Jim Deeter and Josephine Swaim.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl “Sherry” Deeter, whom he was married for 53 wonderful years. Together they raised two children, Rickie (Marty) Deeter, and Shannon (Darl) Seel. Rickie was a devoted grandfather to 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and his mother, Josephine Swaim.

He was preceded in death by his father, sister, and brother.

He was known for his passion for working on cars. He enjoyed spending time in his garage, tinkering on vehicles, and sharing his love of mechanics with his family and friends.

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Funeral services were held at 4 pm Sunday January 19, 2025, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating.              

Calling hours were observed 1-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
