Robert Byron Steele, age 79, of Logan, Ohio, passed away February 3, 2024, at the Ohio State University Wexner Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Bob was born October 6, 1944, in Cameron, WV to Byron O. and Mary “Peggy” June Steele. Bob was a member of the Eagles, Moose, Sons of AMVETS, and Sons of Legion. He was a 1962 Cameron High School graduate and graduated in 1966 from Fairmont State College in Fairmont West Virginia. Bob never met a stranger and seemed to know everyone in Hocking County. He had a witty sense of humor that everyone loved. Bob was always the life of the party and lit up the room. Bob will truly be missed by his community.
Surviving are his children, Todd (Sarah) Steele, Melissa Baldoza, and Kevin (Jennifer) Steele; stepchildren, Terry (Laura) Lilly and Tammy (Doug) Lilly Nesbitt; and 10 grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Mary “Peggy” Steele and infant daughter Steele.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday February 9, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Rockbridge, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed from 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2024, prior to the service at the funeral home.
