Roberta L. Steenrod Adler, 78, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away March 12, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Roberta was born August 24, 1936 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Spencer Stanley and Frances Steenrod. She was the last of her family; a 1954 graduate of Nelsonville High School; member of the Nelsonville Greyhounds; attended Ohio University; and retired from the Department of Human Services. Surviving are her sons, Jay P. Adler of Nelsonville, Drew S. Adler of Nelsonville, and Scott C. (Kimberly) Adler of Athens. grandchildren, Cameron S. Adler and Saylah S. Adler, both of Athens; and Cameron’s mother, Jennifer Folk of Athens. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; grandaughter, Alaina Adler; brother, Spencer Steenrod; and sister, Barbara Berry. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
