Sheldon Lee Reid, (Shot)

How lucky are we to have
loved someone so much, that it makes saying goodbye so hard?

On August 15, 2024, the purest form of love the world has ever known, transcended from the earth to the Heavens.

Sheldon Lee Reid, (Shot) 81, was called home by the Lord, while the love of his life, Sharon Reid, held his hand and loved him all the way into Jesus’ arms. Love is the infinite force that holds us all together even when we are falling apart; and although Shot may not be with us physically, we are connected by an invisible string.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, who is already deeply missed. Dementia creeped its way into Shot’s mind, and slowly took him from us. But he always held onto who he was. With some of his last words being “I am Sheldon Reid,” he left a lasting impression on anyone who was lucky enough to know him. His body
is now healed and renewed, and I’m sure he is crouched down behind the catcher,
umpiring the most divine game of softball the Heavens have ever seen! Finally
reunited with his sons- Steve, Rod, and Doug, he was welcomed into Heaven with
smiles and happy tears. “Welcome Home Dad, we saved you a seat.”

Shot is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Reid; children, Jeff Reid, Scott Reid, David Reid, Teyvia Reid and Whitney Nicholson; grandchildren, Seth, Zane, Connor, Hayley,
Josh, Samantha, Cory, Rebecca, Kimberly, Brannon, Austin, Miranda, Jeyden, Gage, Grace, Donavin, Addisyn and Kennedi; brothers, David and Bob; sisters, Penny and Sharon; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Rod Reid, Steve Reid and Doug Hiles; parents, John
and Dorothy Reid; brother, Mick Reid; grandson, Stevie Reid Jr.; and numerous other family members. Heaven is definitely having one heck of a party!

Calling hours were Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 12 pm – 2 pm and 5 pm – 7 pm, including military services by the Hocking County Honor Guard and a funeral service at 7 pm at the Heinlein Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
