Stephen M. “Mike” “Mick” Bishop, age 82, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away February 1, 2025, at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio.

Mike was born January 18, 1943, in Nelsonville, Ohio to Thurman Bishop and Audrey Bateman Bishop. He worked at Goodyear in Logan, and Kerr Distributing in Athens; owned the 33 Carry Out in Nelsonville; and will be remembered as a pool shooter.

Surviving are wife of almost 61 years, Barbara Bishop; sons, Steven Michael (Jane) Bishop, David (Jamie) Bishop, and Joe (Jill) Bishop all of Nelsonville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Pat McCall of Murray City.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Bishop.

Funeral services were held at 12 noon, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Dave Shoemaker and Michael Bishop officiating. Burial was in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed 6-8 pm Wednesday and 10 am-12 noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
