Sylvia Marie Rardain, age 84, of South Bloomingville, Ohio, passed away February 25, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
Sylvia was born March 20, 1937, in South Bloomingville, Ohio to Frances and Stella Keck. She was a 1954 graduate of Benton Rural High School; worked for the Logan-Hocking County School District in South Bloomingville Elementary and Logan High School; was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Gibisonville; and loved to travel, her favorites being the Smoky Mountains and Amish Country.
She was a mother of 6 children who survive, John (Marty) Rardain of Logan, Barry (Robin) Rardain of St. Cloud, Florida, Roger (Dolly) Rardain of Fairborn, Ohio, Darlene Rardain of South Bloomingville, David Rardain of South Bloomingville, and Lori (Jeff) Pearsall of South Bloomingville; grandmother of 8; and great-grandmother of 7.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Luther Gene Rardain; infant brother, Earl Keck; sister, Lois Ogborn; and special cousin, Sara Bentley.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Bloomingville, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
