Thomas A. Unger, age 71 of South Bloomingville, Ohio, passed away April 29, 2024, at his home.
Tom was born July 14, 1952, in South Bloomingville, Ohio, to William Addison Unger and Florence Mae Garrett. Tom was a graduate of Laurelville High School in Laurelville, Ohio. He worked for Premier Auto Glass in Lancaster, Ohio for many years before working for General Electric in Circleville, Ohio, where he ultimately retired from. Tom was an active member of the Pine Grove Christ Community Church of Rockbridge, Ohio. Tom was a family man that cherished his granddaughter and all of his nieces and nephews. He loved to go hunting, watch sports, and watch old westerns. Tom had a loving and playful personality. He left an impact on everyone he met and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Woodgeard-Unger; son, Trevor E. (Brook) Unger; daughter, Michelle L. Unger; granddaughter, Addison L. Decot; sisters, Bonnie Yates, Peggy Gantzer, and Shirley Unger; brothers, Larry Unger and David Unger.
Preceded in death are his parents, and siblings, Norma June Kercher, Nita J. Burns, William Unger Jr., and Linda Durst.
Calling hours were held on Friday May 3, 2024, from 4 – 8 PM at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio and on Saturday May 4, 2024, from 10 – 11 AM at the Pine Grove Christ Community Church, Rockbridge, Ohio, prior to the service.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 4, 2024, at the Pine Grove Christ Community Church, Rockbridge, Ohio, with Pastors Ben Fannin and Mike Menwrath officiating. Cremation will follow.
There will be a dinner held up the hill from the church following the funeral service at Tom’s garage.
