Thomas Milton Sprouse was born on March 13, 1930 and departed this life on August 13, 2018. He was the son of the late Rodney and Helen (Snider) Sprouse of Gallia County, Ohio. Thomas was united in marriage to Norma F. McGlothlin on August 31, 1952 in Union Furnace, Ohio. To this union they had one son Tony Milton Sprouse and also one granddaughter Haylee Sprouse. Tom and Norma have spent the last 55 years or so in the community of Union Furnace. Tom was a two year veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio as a telephone manager. He received many awards for his excellent work. He also worked as a grounds keeper at the Hocking County Fair Grounds. In his spare time Tom helped get the Starr Township Volunteer Fire Department started and held the position of President. He will always be remembered as Mr. Fix-it. Tom is preceded in death by his son Tony Sprouse; and sister Margaret (Paul) Crosby. Tom is well known in the community and will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services were held on August 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home Logan, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Entombment followed in the New Fairview Mausoleum in Rockbridge, Ohio. Military Honor services were held by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Calling hours were held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
