Walter James Courtright, age 66, of Logan, Ohio, passed away January 22, 2020 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Walter was born July 7, 1953 in Lancaster, Ohio to Walter Courtright and Lillian Mae (Dressing) Courtright. He was an avid 49er’s fan; loved walking his dog and going fishing; and watching wrestling. Walter dearly loved his children and grandchildren and when he could, he loved helping others. He helped out at the Fairfield County Fair and Logan schools.
Surviving are his children, Bryan (Molly) Courtright of Lancaster, Randy (Jennifer) Courtright of Marysville, Ohio, Lisa (Charles) Gordon of Bremen, Zach Courtright of Logan, and Caleb Courtright of Logan; son-in-law Chad Ward; Rebecca Gordon and Delories Courtright; brother Tom (Shirley) Courtright of Lincolnton, GA; sisters, Mary (Dave) Saunders of Chapel Hill, NC, and Diane Schaffer of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; wife of the late Raymond Courtright, Ruby; and his dog Ambrose.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Rebecca Ward; brother Raymond Courtright; and sisters, Gloria Straits-Barnhart, Dorothy “DeeDee” Courtright, and Ruth Ann Francis.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Thursday January 30, 2020 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. Burial was in Laurel Cemetery in Gibsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed 4-8 pm on Wednesday January 29, 2020 and 10-11 am on Thursday January 30, 2020 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
