William “Bill” Joseph Cormanick, age 79, of Logan, Ohio, passed away October 12, 2023, at his home.
Bill was born December 16, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio to Nick and Violet Bircher-Cormanick. He enjoyed being in nature, including, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, and bird watching. There were many weekends spent going on long county drives looking for turkey and deer, and taking the kids “snipe” hunting. Bill loved cooking, making “egg” gravy, playing basketball with family and friends, watching football and old westerns, and listening to country and western music. He spent many hours talking to his best friends Ted Edgar and Bob Coffey on the phone.
Bill was a Vietnam Marine Veteran who loved God, his family, country, and flag. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge while proudly serving his county.
Surviving are his mother, Violet Louise Bircher-Cormanick; children, Niki Lee Cormanick-Pizzuti and John Daniels; grandchildren, Kailey (Timmy) Vermillion-Collins, William “Logan” Beaupre, Nicholas Beaupre, Connor Beaupre, Pasquale Pizzuti, Angelo Pizzuti, and Victor (Amanda) Daniels; great-grandchildren, Kinlee Vermillion, Saint Gandee, Draven Daniels, Malachy Daniels, Hayden Daniels, and Addyson Daniels; sisters, Darlene (Bob) Nader and Jenny Coleman; nieces and nephews, Linda “Sissy” (Carl) Calderone, George Stepp, Will Stepp, Angie (Brian) Cormanick-Jackson, David Cormanick, and Bobby Jo Nader; friends, Ted Edgar and Bob Coffey; beloved cats, July, Angel, Charcoal, and Baby.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Nick Cormanick; siblings, Donald Cormanick, Velinda Stepp, and 3 infant siblings; and niece Liza Cormanick Magee.
Military graveside services and a memorial service were held, following cremation, at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 21, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
There was a gathering following the graveside service.
Arrangements are being held by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio.
