Yvonne E. Struble

Yvonne E. Struble, age 91, of Logan, Ohio, passed away September 25, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Yvonne was born May 10, 1931, in Athens County, Ohio to Elmer and Mabel Smart. She was a 1949 graduate of Buchtel-York High School; She served in the US Army WAC’S During Korea, at 5th Army Headquarters, Chicago, Illinois, Quartermaster Division; retired from Super Thrift Supermarket in Logan; prior to that, she was employed by the A&P Grocery & Fox’s East Market; was a member of the Hocking Hills Artist & Craftsman Association since 1976; she was an artist receiving the “Living Treasure Award” in 1998; served as the clubs treasurer; member of the “Ohio LST Association”; volunteer for tourism at, the Ohio Regional Welcome Center; and a member of the Hocking County Genealogy Organization.              

Surviving are her daughters, Angela Sycks of Logan, Diana (Kirby) Fickel of Logan, and Patricia (David) Dicken of Rockbridge; son Bryan Struble of Logan; sister Shane Smart of The Plains; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and fiancé Okey Leo Tenney of Bexley.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Struble, who passed away December 3, 1993; son Keith Struble; and siblings, Helen Pettit, Audra Hoy, Shirley McKnight, Eldon Smart, Bob Smart, Pauline Smart, and Ansel Smart.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday September 29, 2022, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio where Military Graveside Services were conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Calling hours were observed on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM, at the funeral home.

The family suggests donations to the Veterans Association.
