Earl “Squirrel” Matheney

Earl Orlando “Squirrel” Matheney, age 57, of Albany, Ohio, passed away April 10, 2024, at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Squirrel was born August 22,1966, in Nelsonville, Ohio to James Lee Hook and Ethel Faye Hamilton Hook.

He was a graduate of Morgan High School. He loved the outdoors, playing horseshoes, and mushroom and ginseng hunting.

Surviving are three adult children, and four grandchildren, and one on the way; siblings, Kathy & Benny Whaley of Glouster, Debra Hook of Glouster, Jimmy Hook of Glouster, David & Mary Bailey of Albany, and Rebecca Shuster of McConnelsville; and a lot of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Squirrel was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents; sisters, Donna Lenigar and Mary Ferguson; and nephews, Michael and Terry Moody Jr.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Brown Funeral Home Murray City, Ohio with Pastor Elijah Brooks officiating. Burial was in Hook Cemetery, Glouster, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed 10:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., Sunday, April 14, 2024.
