Elsie M. Murphy, age 71, of Louisa, KY, passed away February 3, 2024, at her home.
Elsie was born October 18, 1952, in Pomeroy, Ohio to Elmer L. and Elsie L. Staley. Elsie was an active member of the Heavenly Tabernacle Church. She was a past firefighter of 14 years for Good Hope Township and a substitute teacher for about 5 years. She loved making all kinds of crafts for her friends and family in recent years as a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Mike Murphy; children, Dwight (Kari) Waddell, Ransom (Linda) Waddell III, Holly (Tamra) Waddell, and Autumn (Frederick Fitzhugh) Waddell; step son, Aaron Murphy; siblings, Carolyn Hurst, Ransom Staley, and Ellinor Linton; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her late husband, David Waddell; parents, Elmer and Elsie Staley; siblings, Florence Fletcher, Dixie Staley, and Louis Welch; and grandson, Ransom Waddell IV.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday February 8, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. Burial followed at Knollwood Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, and 12:00-1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan.
