Fauna Lynn Hanning, age 73, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away July 7th, 2023, at Doctors West, Columbus, Ohio.
Fauna was born February 10, 1950, in Nelsonville, Ohio to Carl and Bonnie O’Nail. Fauna was a member of Connett United Methodist Church. She loved watching OP Live on channel 79. Fauna was a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent a lot of her time gardening, canning, and sewing outfits.
Surviving are her 6 children, Christi Sorrell, Jenny Hanning, Amy Byrum, Greg (Shavona) Hanning, Beth (John Haimerl) Hanning, and Jesse (Mark) VanCuren; 13 grandchildren, Lacey, Chris, Abby, Tiffany, Nick, Jake (Allison), Alex, Kyle, Mason, Katie, Skyla, Alexis, and Cole; 6 great grandchildren, Raylon, Carter, Bentley, Cole, Lakelynn, and Rain; sister, Cheryl (Bob) Douglas and Rosemary (Scott) Warner; brother in law, Brent Hanning; sister in law, Rita Hanning; many nieces and nephews; and 4 special people in Fauna’s life, Cathy Jordan, Ed Banik, Julio Gonzalez, and Kevin Parsley (Time Dispatch Family).
Fauna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Kenny Hanning; parents, Carl and Bonnie O’Nail; in laws, Eldridge and Bernadine Hanning; brother, Chuck (Kathy) Hanning; and sister, Debbie O’Bannon.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon, Friday July 14, 2023, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with pastor Robert Vanbibber officiating. Cremation follows the services.
Calling hours were observed from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday July 13, 2023, and 11 A.M. to 12 Noon on Friday July 14, 2023.
A lunch was held at Rocky’s Boot reception room by the Connett United Methodist Church.
