John “Johnny” William Byers, age 73, of Fostoria, Ohio, formerly of Glouster, passed peacefully at home on August 11, 2021.
Johnny was born March 6, 1948 in Athens, Ohio to Jesse J. Skinner and Eileen A. Byers Herman. He retired from Hann Manufacture in 2015.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Byers; 3 children, Raymond William Byers, Michael Allen Byers and John Paul Byers; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Raymond (Ally) Byers, Isaiah Matthew Byers and Caitlyn Nicole Byers; great-granddaughter, Madilyn Dawn Byers; half-brother, Scott Skinner; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Byers and her 3 sons.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darwin “Zip” Byers; and half-brother, Danny Skinner.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 P.M., Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. David Edgell officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours were observed Monday from 2 pm till time of service.
