Robert M. Short, age 91, of Speedwell, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was a member of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Betty Jo Grube, Penny Sue Crosswhite, Robin Gail Loomis, and Ginger Kay Short; brother, John D. (Sandi) Short; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Short; long term companion, Melva Speakman; parents, John W. and Betty Harris Short; brothers, William, Garfield and Tilman Short; and sisters, Nettie Byas, Zola Haynes, Sarah McConaha, and Willie Rigney.
Family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Cutcher officiating.
Calling hours will be held again, between 12pm – 2pm, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow the funeral at Short Family Cemetery in Laurelville, Ohio.
