Velma Irene Lytle

Velma Irene Lytle, 84, of Logan, Ohio passed away May 4, 2018 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan, Ohio. Velma was born March 3, 1934 in Hocking County, Ohio to Carl and Florence Durant. She married Donald Lytle on April 6, 1950; was currently a member of the Kline Memorial United Methodist Church in Enterprise; former member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the PCA Class of the Church; and a Girl Scout leader for 24 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are her sons, Carl Lytle Sr. of Parkersburg, WV, Bruce (Beverly) Lytle of Logan, and Scott (Cindy) Lytle of Logan; daughters, Sue Sparks of Knoxville, TN, Carla (William) Riches of Logan, Ohio, and Mary Copenhaver (Dennis Hoffer) of Polk; grandchildren, Kira Brewer of Knoxville, TN, Crystal Faris of Athens, Carl Lytle Jr. of Reading, PA, Jeremy Riches of Logan, Michael Copenhaver of Sugar Grove, Ashley Taylor of Grove City, and Josee Wood of Logan; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Charles Durant of Logan; sisters, Florence Johnson of Logan, and Jackie Ann Richendollar of Logan; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Madelyn Redd of Logan. Velma was preceded in death by her father, Carl Durant; mother, Florence Durant Cable; step-father, Pearl Cable; husband of 52 years, Donald Lytle, who passed February 11, 2003. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 10. 2018 at the Kline Memorial United Methodist Church, Enterprise, Ohio with Rev. Michael Adkins and Rev. Rick Bennington officiating. Burial was in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Kline Memorial United Methodist Church (Chair Lift Fund), 28996 Enterprise-Iles Rd. Logan, Ohio 43138.
