Delmar E. “Pickett” Neal, age 92, of Murray City, Ohio, passed away January 3, 2024, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan, Ohio.
“Pickett” was born September 20, 1931 in Murray City, Ohio to Charles R. and Edith M. Neal. He was a 1951 graduate of Murray City High School and a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Alice Neal Forester.
“Pickett” was preceded in death by parents; sons, Bryan and Kenny; and siblings, Wilma Thompson, Millard Neal, Jill Clark, Ruth Campbell, Jack Neal, Ralph Neal, Myrtle Lanning, and Harold “Abe” Neal.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating.
Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio, where Military Graveside services were conducted by the Athens County Combined Color Guard.
Calling hours were observed 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the funeral home.
