Ruby Jo Carter, age 92, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away March 12, 2024, at Park Village HC, New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Ruby was born February 20, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nelsonville, Ohio.
Surviving are her children, Dennis (Linda) Carter, Debra (Larry) Burton, and David (Rhonda) Carter; grandchildren, Bruce Carter, Teri Dunlap, Andrea (Dan) Sensel, Lora (Judd) Freitag, Lisa (Andy) Hostetler, Ashley (Brandon) German, and Greg (Ashleigh) Carter; 17 great-grandchildren; and her beloved pets, Josie and Dasey.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Murl and Lucille Glass and husband, Robert L. Carter.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church of Nelsonville, with Rev. David Roach officiating. The burial was in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Nelsonville located at 205 W Columbus Street in Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.
