Thomas J. Bolar

Thomas Joseph Bolar, age 81, of Logan, Ohio, passed away September 22, 2022, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Tom was born October 9, 1940, in Lancaster, Ohio to Thomas W. and Alfreda L. Bolar (Hill). He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion.   Tom was a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. Tom was a practicing Pharmacist for over 40 years in Texas, Oklahoma, and Ohio. 

In retirement, Tom enjoyed fishing, shooting at the range, sitting on his back porch having coffee, cutting and arranging the flowers he grew, visiting his children and grandchildren, talking everyone’s ears off, watching old Westerns, mowing his lawn, tinkering in his garage, and thinking about Jane Fonda. 

Surviving are his children, Lisa Tassara (Phoenix, AZ) Michael Bolar (Ann) (Gilbert, AZ), Kymberly Bolar (Hopkinton, MA), and Elizabeth Morrison (Rob) (Flagstaff, AZ); grandchildren, Maria Gastony (Alec), Michael Daniel Bolar, and Esme Morrison; and sisters, Judy Hendrix (Bill), Janice Conrad (Chandler), and Connie Brandt (Dick); and his good friend and neighbor, Dennis Daubenmire.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Barbara Bolar (Dickerson).

A Military Graveside service, conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard, will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11 AM at Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please eat a giant bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce—Tom’s favorite snack –and remember him fondly.
