Betsy L. Ross, 54, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed
away April 3, 2017 at her residence.
Betsy was born June 14, 1962 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Clarence A. and Isabelle
J. Matheny. She formerly operated the Oasis Carry Out in Murray City; and drove
a school bus for the Nelsonville-York Schools.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Ross of Nelsonville; daughter, Erin K. (Robert)
Gautier of Murray City; son, Jeffrey (Kourtney) Mitchell of Nelsonville;
grandchildren, Hayleigh, Austin, Jayda, Ashlynn, Jace, and Huntley; sisters,
Patricia A (Chuck) Walker of Lancaster, Mary Jane (Tom) Meek of Grove City, and
Sandy (Larry) Wolfe of Murray City; brother, Phillip Matheny of Logan;
brother-in-law, Mike Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter; brothers,
Lewis Matheny, and Harry Matheny; sister, Florence Burton; infant sister,
Beulah Jean Matheny; and sister-in-law, Candy Matheny.
Funeral services were held 11:00 am Friday April 7, 2017 at the Brown Funeral
Home, Murray City, Ohio with Larry Wolfe officiating. Burial was in Salem
Cemetery, Murray City, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
