Kevin Mark Wheaton, 53, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away March 29, 2016 at his residence. Kevin was born May 1, 1962 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was a cowboy at Smoke Rise Ranch near Murray City for 20 years; and loved being a mechanic. Surviving are his brothers, David Wheaton of Smoke Rise, Ohio, Brian Wheaton of Athens, Ohio, and Jonathan Ledsome of Elizabeth, West Virginia; sisters, Ida (Keith) Wheaton Joy of Elizabeth, West Virginia and Mary (Parry) Bateman of Nelsonville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Eugene Wheaton; mother, Wilma Jean Ledsome; sisters, Sharon Wheaton, and Carol Wheaton Smith; 1 great-niece; and 1 great-nephew. Funeral services were held 11:00am Friday April 1, 2016 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Graveside service and burial were held at 3:00pm Friday at the Owl Hill Cemetery, near Elizabeth, West Virginia. Calling hours were observed Thursday 5-8pm at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
