Kirk Douglas Whitmore, 49, of Chillicothe, Ohio, formerly of Murray City and Buchtel, passed away November 23, 2014 at Grant Medical Center from complications of Moyamoya Disease. Kirk was born December 25, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1983 graduate of Nelsonville-York High School; an Army Veteran; and worked at Wal-Mart in Waverly, OH. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Alberta (Bob) Vasko; sister, Kathi (Ray Guisinger) Whitmore; brothers, Kenny (Alicia Horn) Whitmore Jr., Kevin (Pam Larabee) Whitmore, Kerry (Misty Carsey) Whitmore, Kris (Sheila Whitlatch) Whitmore, Korey (Danielle) Whitmore, and Ryan (Tiffany Flowers) Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and good friends, Phil and Dave. Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Kenny Whitmore Sr.; and grandparents, Eddie Whitmore, Adrienne Shelton, Victor L. Wetzel, and Erma Mills. Memorial services were held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 2:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio, with Fr. Christopher Foxhoven officiating. Calling Hours were Saturday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Stewart and all the staff at Grant Medical Center.
