Wilburt Eugene Rutter, 66, of Jacksonville, Ohio passed away June 12, 2016 at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio. Wilburt was born September 4, 1949 in Carbondale, Ohio to Lester “Hank” and Hershel Rutter. He was a member the Glouster Moose; and retired from Walmart distribution center. Surviving are his wife, Judy A. Rutter; son, Anthony (Debbie) Rutter of Jacksonville; daughters, Miranda (Bert) Sharrer of Jacksonville, Stacy (Eric) Griffith of Glouster, Loretta Rutter of Jacksonville, Lorena (Wayne) Hedges of Lancaster, and Melissa (Jason) Mesaros of Glouster; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Mary) Rutter of Nelsonville, Mike Rutter of Roseville, Kenny Rutter of Chauncey, David Rutter of Jackson, Sam Coen of Athens, and Arthur Coen of Athens; sisters, Janet (Hersey) Potts of Stockpord, Linda Francisco of Albany, Carol (Tom) Arnott of Tuppers Plains, Melody Hook of The Plains, and Jill McKee of Largo, FL; mother-in-law, Judy Spears of Glouster; sisters-in-law, Barbara McKee of Nelsonville, Shelby Rutter of Corning, Carol (Kenny) Hoppstetter of Logan, Kathy Miller of Millfield, and Brenda Vess of Jacksonville; and brothers-in-law, Bob Spears, Ben Spears, George (Nancy) Spears, and Steve (Karon) Spears all of Glouster. Wilburt was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester “Buck” Rutter, Leslie (Shirley) Rutter, Gearld Richard Rutter and Jack McKee; sister, Mary Lou Rutter; nephews, Brian and Hoppy Hoppstetter; father-in-law, Jim Spears; sister-in-law, Barb Spears; and brothers-in-law, Richard Potts, Jimmy Lee Spears, Tim Vess, Tommy Spears, and Doug Miller. Funeral services were held 7:00 pm Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Pastor Linda Berry officiating. Calling hours were observed Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 3:00 pm to time of service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Brown Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
