Carlene M. Scott, loving mother, 71, of Hollister, Ohio passed away January 3, 2017 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan, Ohio. Carlene was born June 14, 1945 in Murray City, Ohio to Gerald “Jack” and Delores Stephenson. She was a past member of the Eagles 1044 Auxiliary of Murray City, and American Legion #420 of Murray City. Surviving are her husband, Vern Scott of Logan; daughters, Verna A. (Ted) Brooks of Glouster, Violet A. (Donald) Martin of Nelsonville, and Vera A (James) McCall of Greens Run; step-daughter, Brenda (Keith) Douglas of Chauncey; grandchildren, Amy, Casey, Robert, Katie, Sophia, and Makena; 3 step-grandchildren; and siblings, Billy Stephenson, Betty Spears, Clarice Leonard, Diana, and Rebecca. Carlene was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; daughter, Virginia Mullen; sister, Alice Everett; and son-in-law, David Mullen. Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Home Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Elijah Brooks officiating. Burial was in Hollister Cemetery, Glouster, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2-6 pm at the funeral home.
