Vern L. “Sonny” Scott, 77, of Hollister,
passed away September 17, 2017 at Laurels of Athens, Athens, Ohio.
Vern was born February 29, 1940 to Vern R. and Clara Scott.
Surviving are his daughters, Brenda (Keith) Douglas of Chauncey, Verna A. (Ted)
Brooks of Glouster, Violet A. (Donald) Martin of Nelsonville, and Vera A.
(James) McCall of Greens Run; grandchildren, Dawn, Donald Jr, Brian, Amy,
Casey, Robert, Katie, Sophia, and Makena; 3 great-grand children; sister, Kathy
Sheridan; special friend, Ed Chesser; and special cousin, Mary Stump;
Vern was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carlene; 2 infant sons;
daughter, Virginia Mullen; and son-in-law, David Mullen .
Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Brown
Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Elijah Brooks officiating. Burial was
in Hollister Cemetery, Hollister, Ohio
Calling hours were observed Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 2:00-6:00 pm at
the funeral home.
