Connie E. Riley, 67, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away June 20, 2018 at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio. Connie was born March 2, 1951 in Athens County, Ohio to Donald and Frances Riley. She was a Christian and attended Salem Baptist Church in Nelsonville. Surviving are her children, Richard (Mary) Phillips of Athens, Jeremy (Cristel) Phillips of Nelsonville, and Michelle (Jim) Hoops of Nelsonville; 9 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Pam (Charles) Smith of Nelsonville and Homer “Buddy” Riley of Nelsonville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Riley and Craig Riley; sister Estella “Christy” Hall; step-son, Roy Teal Jr.; and uncle Homer Mourn Jr.. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with John Johnston officiating. Calling hours were observed Friday, June 22, 2018 from 12:00 Noon to time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
